Story
Sonic, Knuckles and Tails face off against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with new powers. With their powers outclassed, Team Sonic must seek an unlikely alliance. The directors of the previous films have cited Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and the single-player game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film also draws on narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).
